Why Are Relationships So Hard?

Just think about all of the things YOU have been through.

Just think about all of the things YOU have been through. There may have been a few traumas, toxic relationships (that can mean family, friends or romantic.) There have been stressors, anxiety, illness and the transitioning of someone you love.

Thats YOU. Now imagine that your potential partner or current partner has been through similar situations, sometimes less and sometimes more.

The issue with relationships always has something to do with confidence, self worth and self esteem. And yes they are all very different.

Now, add to that mental health or addiction issues and even abuse of all kinds.

What happens is that people adopt a certain attachment style given their upbringing.

Secure Attachment

Anxious Attachment

Avoidant attachment and

Disorganized Anxious/Avoidant Attachment

Most people get into relationships to GET something. Whether it’s love, sex, validation, security and so on.

But that isn’t how it should be.

Getting into a relationship is about communication, being able to resolve conflicts, understanding, compassion, kindness, forgiveness and so much more.

If you are currently in a relationship and you find it hard, then ask yourself “What would love do?” You will know the answer pretty quickly.

Try this with your partner or potential partner.

Make an effort to show up 100% as much as you can and never go back to just being a 50/50 part of the equation.

Life will never be the same.
